Culture: Update 3

Looking back on what I've learnt from this assignment, I feel a lot more confident when it comes to presenting a PowerPoint presentation in front of people compared to the last assignment. I really think we all did a great job in our group and because of this it really shows in our blogging website.

The time and effort we spent developing this project and meeting up to add more information into it was one of the best experiences I have had working on a group project. I really liked working with a good group of people that felt the same way I did about this project which really made this feel like a labour of Love. I hope we can find the time to continue developing this blog down the line.

The only thing that I think we fell short on with the PowerPoint presentation was the fact we focused too much on discussing the concept instead of going through the process of making the blogging website and not the challenges we faced. We did create a nice-looking PowerPoint presentation with a good colour scheme, but we misunderstood what content was needed to appear in it. We did feel a little bit down about this as we did put an awful lot of effort in developing this project. Luckily for us it was only the PowerPoint that really let us down and not the blogging website.

Creativity: Update 2

During the process of developing my animated gif I decided to use a website called Unsplash for my reference photography images. I personally felt this would add a unique and professional look to what I was hoping to animate. For this purpose of making animated gif I decided to use a software called Photomirage. I have been wanting to experiment with this software for some time but have never gotten the opportunity to really explore its unique features. Previously I would have always used Adobe Creative Cloud for enhancing and developing my project ideas. However, I wanted to learn something new, so I decided to use this software instead as I wanted to challenge myself. The software was very easy to use and had a lot of unique features like Adobe products. One of the things that I found a little bit unusual was the way it allows the user to simply drag and drop effects onto your image. This was interesting as you didn't have to use a layering system to setup your effects. Co...

Creativity: Update 1

In today's class of Introduction to Digital Media we were given our first project which we must complete over the coming weeks. We had to create an animated GIF and present it in a PowerPoint presentation as part of a group project. At first, I was horrified at the idea of doing a presentation as I am not great when it comes to speaking in public, as I can sometimes get extremely nervous. When it came to be finding the best people to work with, I was lucky as they were individuals that I've already become good friends with. Ron and Cian are very nice people and I know I can rely on them to get this project done the right way. Since we decided to go with an animated GIF for a project, I decided to take it upon myself to create a group page using WhatsApp. I felt this would be a great way of communicating since this is something, we have been using to keep in touch with others in our creative development class. This way we would be able to keep up to date with any ideas tha...
