Creativity: Update 1

In today's class of Introduction to Digital Media we were given our first project which we must complete over the coming weeks. We had to create an animated GIF and present it in a PowerPoint presentation as part of a group project. At first, I was horrified at the idea of doing a presentation as I am not great when it comes to speaking in public, as I can sometimes get extremely nervous.

When it came to be finding the best people to work with, I was lucky as they were individuals that I've already become good friends with. Ron and Cian are very nice people and I know I can rely on them to get this project done the right way. Since we decided to go with an animated GIF for a project, I decided to take it upon myself to create a group page using WhatsApp. I felt this would be a great way of communicating since this is something, we have been using to keep in touch with others in our creative development class. This way we would be able to keep up to date with any ideas that might help develop this project.

We also arranged to meet up regularly during our free lab classes in Introduction to Digital Media. For this project we decided to focus on different aspects of animated gifs as we wanted to develop our own personal interests and add them into this presentation. I wanted to develop how animated GIFs are used in photography as this was something, I had an interest in myself and I wanted to learn more about this medium. Ron had a deep interest in Pop Culture, and he wanted to add a section on this in the presentation. Cian also wanted to develop an animated gif on his own personal interests of music. Planning the project this way was great as we were able to cover a lot of different sections about animated gifs. which was quite interesting and fun to do because we had a personal interest in this project.

Creativity: Update 2

During the process of developing my animated gif I decided to use a website called Unsplash for my reference photography images. I personally felt this would add a unique and professional look to what I was hoping to animate. For this purpose of making animated gif I decided to use a software called Photomirage. I have been wanting to experiment with this software for some time but have never gotten the opportunity to really explore its unique features. Previously I would have always used Adobe Creative Cloud for enhancing and developing my project ideas. However, I wanted to learn something new, so I decided to use this software instead as I wanted to challenge myself. The software was very easy to use and had a lot of unique features like Adobe products. One of the things that I found a little bit unusual was the way it allows the user to simply drag and drop effects onto your image. This was interesting as you didn't have to use a layering system to setup your effects. Co...
