Creativity: Update 2

During the process of developing my animated gif I decided to use a website called Unsplash for my reference photography images. I personally felt this would add a unique and professional look to what I was hoping to animate. For this purpose of making animated gif I decided to use a software called Photomirage. I have been wanting to experiment with this software for some time but have never gotten the opportunity to really explore its unique features. Previously I would have always used Adobe Creative Cloud for enhancing and developing my project ideas. However, I wanted to learn something new, so I decided to use this software instead as I wanted to challenge myself.

The software was very easy to use and had a lot of unique features like Adobe products. One of the things that I found a little bit unusual was the way it allows the user to simply drag and drop effects onto your image. This was interesting as you didn't have to use a layering system to setup your effects. Compared to other programs where you would need to set up a couple of different layers prior to you even animating your image. This was great as it cut down an awful lot of the frustration you would usually go through when implementing these types of photo manipulation effects. At the bottom of this page there is an example of some of the things I went through when animating my images.

Creativity: Update 1

In today's class of Introduction to Digital Media we were given our first project which we must complete over the coming weeks. We had to create an animated GIF and present it in a PowerPoint presentation as part of a group project. At first, I was horrified at the idea of doing a presentation as I am not great when it comes to speaking in public, as I can sometimes get extremely nervous. When it came to be finding the best people to work with, I was lucky as they were individuals that I've already become good friends with. Ron and Cian are very nice people and I know I can rely on them to get this project done the right way. Since we decided to go with an animated GIF for a project, I decided to take it upon myself to create a group page using WhatsApp. I felt this would be a great way of communicating since this is something, we have been using to keep in touch with others in our creative development class. This way we would be able to keep up to date with any ideas tha...

Culture: Update 2

This new assignment was quite interesting as we had to create a project based around culture. This would be a little bit tricky as we were only given this assignment the day before we finished up for the reading week. This meant the only time we would be able to meet up and work on the group project would be over the days we had off.  This was a little difficult as each of us would need to arrange transport to meet up and work on our group project. This was a little tricky as each of us were coming from different locations such as Cavan, Navan and Ballivor. We decided that Navan would be the best place to meet up as it was easily accessible for everybody in the group and there was a nice little coffee shop their where we could work in peace and quiet. I think Keith, Wiktoria and I really wanted to develop a strong and impressive idea in which we could be proud of. This was one of the reasons why we chose to do our assignment on blogging as we felt we could truly get...
